Northport Police Blotter: Woman Banned From Northport Restaurant
ALSO: A girl was reportedly threatened by a Snapchat scammer, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Nov. 15 through Nov. 21.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Police responded to Northport Fish & Lobster on Nov. 15 for a report of a man who is not supposed to be on the property. The man was in the road in front of the business. Police reminded the man of the active trespass affidavit against him and told him to not enter the property.
- A man reportedly pushed a woman inside a vehicle at Fort Salonga Road around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 15. A caller told police it was a white SUV that went westbound on Fort Salonga Road. Police found the car and stopped it. Both the man and woman refused to tell the officer any information; only that they were arguing loudly in the parking lot of the Husco gas station and neither one of them pushed the other, police said. Police tried to interview both people outside of the vehicle separately but both refused and were extremely uncooperative, police said. Neither person seemed injured, police said. Police tried to view the security cameras at the gas station but the employee stated someone would have to come in during the day to speak to his boss.
- A small hole in Eatons Neck Road was caused by a pothole repair that had broken apart, police found on Nov. 19.
- A woman reportedly refused to leave The Purple Elephant on Nov. 19. The caller told police the woman was having lunch in the restaurant when she began to get aggressive, getting in her face, accusing her of racism, filming her and refusing to leave the restaurant. Police spoke with the woman, who said the waitress made her feel uncomfortable so she voiced her displeasure with the service. The caller told police she did not want the woman to return to the restaurant and signed a trespass affidavit. Police told the woman she is not allowed back at the restaurant.
- A girl called 911 because she was mad at her little brother on Nov. 19. Police spoke with the girl about when to call 911.
- A man was reportedly at Northport Fish & Lobster on Nov. 21 despite a trespass order against him. The man was not at the business when police arrived and he was not accused of being on the grounds. The business owner stated that the only work being done was clean-up work within the building.
- The woman banned from The Purple Elephant reported to police on Nov. 21 she felt she was being discriminated against by an employee of the restaurant.
- A man went to police headquarters to file a report regarding unwanted Snapchat messages sent to his daughter. The sender, who the man does not know, was threatening to release photos, which the daughter said do not exist. Police told the man and his daughter to block the person on the app, as well as make her profile private and not accept friend invites from unknown parties. The incident was reported Nov. 21.
