Authorities recovered 53 bags of heroin, nearly $20,000 in cash and a loaded weapon from the Bohemia home.

A Northport police officer helped foil a heroin distribution operation in Bohemia last Wednesday, according to a Northport Police press release.

Authorities found out about the alleged heroin distribution location thanks to information developed by Northport Police Officer Matthew Bruckenthal.

Police said they saw a resident selling heroin on four different locations. A search warrant was subsequently issued on the home and authorities recovered 53 bags of heroin, a loaded .22 caliber pistol that was reported stolen, numerous boxes of ammunition and $19,824 in cash.
