Northport Resident Helps Raise $131K for Homeless Youth

The resident and his colleagues slept on cardboard in the parking lot of Sleepy's headquarters.

A Northport resident recently joined 75 of his colleagues at Sleepy’s to help raise $131,000 for homeless youth.

Philip Greenwald, Sleepy’s Vice President of Store Development and Real Estate, traded in his mattress for cardboard to “Sleep Out” on pavement in the parking lot of Sleepy’s headquarters, which is located in Hicksville.

The Sleepy’s crew raised funds for Covenant House at the Aug. 6 event to help provide food, clothing, shelter, medical care and housing for hundreds of homeless youth.
