Northport Sends Over 300 Pounds of Special Items to Troops in Kuwait
Beef jerky, candy, deodorant and socks are just a few items that are hard for service members to get for themselves.
Several Northport organizations teamed up to make the holiday season a little brighter for a group of service men and women by shipping over 300 pounds of personal items to those stationed in Kuwait.
This project was ispired by an East Northport resident who serves as a U.S. Air Force Major stationed in Kuwait. He recently told his family that there are some personal items that are hard for him to get himself.
The man’s family, hoping to send supplies for all 220 stationed Airmen and Marines, realized that providing all of these supplies was beyond their means.
