Northport Students Earn Outstanding Leadership In Phys. Ed Award
The Northport High School students were awarded for their commitment to their respective sports and as remarkable students overall.

NORTHPORT, NY — Northport High School seniors Aileen McPartland and Rocco Stola were recognized with the Outstanding Leadership in Physical Education award by the Suffolk Zone Chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, according to a news release from the district.
Aileen and Rocco were awarded for their commitment to their respective sports, as well as being remarkable students overall. They both plan to continue their athletics at college next year.
Aileen McPartland was nominated by her coach, Sean Lynch, and has been a part of the Northport girls volleyball program for seven years. She is a three-year varsity starter that helped lead Northport High School to win its first League Championship in over a decade. She is slated to continue her volleyball career next fall at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Rocco is a baseball and football standout for Northport High School. Nominated by Coach John DeMartini, he is expected to join the football team at Middlebury College in the fall.
"Each of the student-athletes are natural leaders," said Northport-East Northport Director of Health, Physical Education & Athletics Mark Dantuono. "They are compassionate, driven, loyal and overall exceptional people."
