Northport Tour Choir to Perform Alongside Patti LuPone

The choir has been invited to sing alongside the Broadway legend for the third straight year.

Members from the Northport High School Tour Choir have been invited to sing for the third straight year with Northport High School alumnae Patti LuPone at the John W. Engeman Theatre in January.

The Northport Tour Choir will accompany LuPone in the two-night show on Jan. 23-24 titled “Don’t Monkey With Broadway.” LuPone is best known for her Broadway and acting career and is a two-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Tony Award winner.

Choir Tour Directors Ellen McCarthy and Nicholas Hart said they are honored to have the students perform with the Broadway legend again. The show will be a community event with the John W. Engeman Theatre, which is located right in the heart of Northport.

“This is the biggest and most important audience,” said McCarthy. “The goal is to touch people in the community with these performances.”

McCarthy and Hart plan to hold auditions within the Northport Tour Choir soon and will be selecting around 24 students for the two-night show.
