$616,750 of the proposed budget is earmarked for funding roof repair and replacement districtwide. Other increases include legal services ($191,297 or 47.5 percent), employee benefits ($1.579m, or 3.94 percent), debt service ($1.06m or 27 percent) and operation of plant ($264,158, or 2.7 percent).
An additional proposition Northport residents will be asked to vote on is whether or not to allow the district to use capital reserves to fund an additional $1.8m in asphalt, concrete and drainage repairs primarily to help ease the flow of traffic around Northport High School. This will have no additional tax impact on residents.
