Northwell Health Appoints Urologic Director for its Suffolk County Facilities

Reza Ghavamian, MD, has been appointed regional director of urology in Suffolk County for Northwell Health and professor of urology at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.

This new position is part of a larger effort by Northwell Health to increase its urologic and urologic cancer services in Suffolk County. Dr. Ghavamian will be based at Northwell Health Physician Partners at Huntington, located at 284 Pulaski Road in Greenlawn.

“It is important for people to receive their medical care close to their homes,” said Kevin Beiner, executive director of the Eastern Region of Northwell Health. “Through Dr. Ghavamian and other members of the Northwell Health urologic team we will be able to do that for many people in Suffolk County.”

Before joining Northwell Health, Dr. Ghavamian, a urologic oncologist, was director of the multidisciplinary urologic oncology program at Montefiore Medical Center and professor of clinical urology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Ghavamian is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his training in urologic and transplantation surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He subsequently completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic Foundation in Rochester Minnesota.
