Northwell Health, Huntington Hospital Sponsor Great Cow Harbor 10K

More cowbell? That’s just what many of the spectators of this year’s Great Cow Harbor 10K, one of the nation’s premier road races, got from Northwell Health and Huntington Hospital to help cheer on the approximately 5,000 runners on Saturday morning.

Northwell Health and Huntington Hospital sponsored the race and, in addition to cowbells, gave out hand towels to sweaty runners. Huntington Hospital also had a team of about a dozen runners participate in the 10K race this year, which culminated at Northport Park overlooking the harbor.

Aaron Braun, of Flagstaff, AZ, won the men’s race in 29 minutes, 23.92 seconds while Natosha Rogers, of Littleton, CO, took the women’s title in 33:17.17.

“It was a beautiful day and a great time to see these talented athletes and their supporters,” said Gerard Brogan, MD, executive director of Huntington Hospital, who was on hand to greet people, hand out towels and present the top female and male winners with their awards. “We are happy to be part of this and many other events in the communities we serve.”
