'Not 1 Application' For Ace And Midnight, Northport Pets Of The Week
Will you be the one to adopt these brothers, who are "so sweet" and "craving love"?

NORTHPORT, NY — Ace and Midnight, a pair of 7-month-old bonded brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.
"If their names sound familiar, it is because they have been our kittens of the week several times," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "They have been to each of our stores for exposure, and not one application."
The duo was taken out of the habitats for a few weeks and put into a foster home so they could stretch and run around, Wild said. They returned to Petco Commack last Saturday for the rescue's adoption event, as the organization hoped it would finally be their turn to find a home.

"They were so sad to be put back into the habitats, but it is necessary for people to meet them," Wild said.
Ace and Midnight retreated to the back and under some blankets.

"We had so many visitors at our event on Saturday, and so much interest in all our cats and kittens and for that we are so grateful," Wild said. "Sadly, the one pair that not one single person came to see, inquired about, or even pet was Ace and Midnight. They were timid and sad to be back and for that reason did not charm the pants off anyone."
Wild fostered Ace and Midnight herself. She said they LOVE to play and run through a tunnel. They also love looking out the open window, eating, licking treats from people's hands, and each other.
"They use the litter box beautifully and were dying to be friends with my other cats," Wild said. "They would love when I come in to play with them. After a few days they let me pet them and absolutely loved it, purring up a storm. When I left the room, they sat by the door wondering when I would come back. Although a little nervous, they want love. They will be amazing pets in a home with people that will be patient with them to warm up and will play with them, talk to them, and love them."
Wild recalls each time she believed Ace was more affectionate, Midnight would head butt her for pets, and then it would switch. Both felines are craving love.
"They are so sweet, not a hiss or a scratch, just gentleness," Wild said. "They hold no resentment. They are grateful for any attention they get and have come to think of small spaces as the norm. This time back in the habitats they seem sadder than usual. I wish they understood how loved they are by all of us at NCRA and we will never give up trying to find them their happily ever after. I can’t wait to see them when they get a home — to run around in and never be put back into a cage again."
The bonded brothers are back at Petco Commack in the association's habitats.
"Please consider visiting them and giving them the life they so deserve," Wild said. "Just maybe you need them as much as they need you."

They are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
