OH, the wonders of Essential Oils!

I must say that over the past 6 months I have broadened my horizons within my practice and did a good amount of ‘tinkering’ with Essential Oils.

You may be thinking, ‘Big deal, everyone likes to smell a nice essential oils’ or ‘I love the burn them in my tea light warmer’.  Those are both great, but I am talking Therapeutic grade organic pure essential oil blends by Vibrant Blue Oils.  A fellow NTP formulates them.

Ok, so in my practice I do a Functional Exam and Lingual Neuro Testing (it’s sort of a form of applied kinesiology). It is an approach through the body’s foundations to determine if there is dysregulation within the systems. This is how I apply diet, stress management; sleep habits, movement and supplementation to create better function and regulation within the body.

When it comes to the supplementation I have been testing people with both a supplement and a specified essential oil blend.  I must say I have had several clients that tested better with an Essential Oil Blend.  The first time this happened I was amazed and delighted.

So, I decided to try one on myself and test it out for two weeks…..needless to say, SOLD!

This is how they work: Essential oils are made up of very tiny molecules. The small molecules that makeup essential oils empower them in a number of ways:

  • It makes them aromatic, as small molecules are able to quickly vaporize and positively affect the body through the nose and lungs. (This ability is what led to the term “aromatherapy.”)
  • It enables them to easily cross tissues and cell walls — including the blood-brain barrier — which gives the power to reach areas of the body like nothing else. (This can be seen in the ability that essential oils have to quickly and positively affect the emotions.)
  • It equips oils to be transdermal, which means that they can penetrate the skin and reach any part of the body in minutes. (For example, an oil like peppermint can be placed on the sole of the foot and be tasted on the tongue within a minute.)

About two months ago I gave a Calm blend to the parents of a five-year-old client of mine who is Autistic and very frequently has tantrums that both his parents and teachers have difficulty pulling him out of.   I was asked for a suggestion, and I suggested the Calm blend.   About three weeks later I received an email from the Father,  The calming oil truly works I was skeptical to say the least but on several occasions the oil has saved us and him from a full melt down …I’m a believer…”

I have since started working with some amazing blends for digestion, liver support, lymph flow, blood sugar, nerve repair, sleep and focus to name a few.   I highly suggest looking into them as an integral part of your wellness regime.

In good health.

Tara
