Sophie the dog has gone missing in the Northport area recently.
Local resident, Jessica Draddy, was fostering Sophie for the past 7 weeks with plans to eventually adopt her.
During one of their daily walks around the village on Monday, she escaped from her new collar with nametag and "bolted" through town.

She began running down Northport Harbor and was last seen by the Makamah area near the marsh and preserve land.
Draddy has been searching for her along with a team of local people who read about her situation on social media.

"I am devastated as we were supposed to sign her official papers this week and I'm scared for her out there alone," she told Patch.
Sophie, a red shiba inu, is about 15 pounds and is really shy. If she is found, please contact Draddy at 516-850-5853.
