Unconscious Bicyclist Found On Side Of Road By Passing Driver

EAST NORTHPORT, NY — An unconscious bicyclist was found on the side of the road in East Northport Saturday afternoon, the Suffolk County Police Department said Monday.

A passing driver called 911 around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday after he saw a man lying injured, next to a bicycle, on the side of Deposit Road, near McFadden Drive, police said. The man, Vincent Farrugia, 61, of Commack, suffered a head injury.

Farrugia was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
