Pedestrian Killed In East Northport Crash: Police
An 81-year-old Saint James man was struck on Larkfield Road late Monday night, Suffolk police said.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — An 81-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle late Monday night in East Northport, Suffolk County police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. in front of 332 Larkfield Road.
Police said Pierino Liberta, 81, of Saint James, was crossing the roadway on foot from west to east when he was struck by a northbound 2020 Subaru Outback.

Liberta was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
The driver of the Subaru, identified by police as Jack Sandin, 19, of Northport, was not injured.

Police said the vehicle was impounded for a safety check. No charges were immediately announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
