Photos: Northport Harbor Family Fun Night Kicks Off
Hundreds enjoy good times along Main Street on a beautiful evening.
The Annual Family Harbor Fun Nights kicked off on Tuesday with hundreds enjoying a beautiful evening walking outdoors on Main Street.
Almost every business offered something to experience outside of their storefronts, gleaming classic cars lined the streets, and music from two bands-- The Northport Jazz Band and the Liverpool Shuffle-- intertwined with the scent of hot food in the air.
DJ Tommy Bruno organized a crazy hair/hat contest with the kids in the center of it all and later on the kids did a conga line and tested their Macarena moves. There were also performances by the John W. Engeman Studio of Performing Arts, and much, much more.

"There are more people here this year than last," said Chamber Board of Directors Member Mary Ahern. "The weather couldn't get more perfect and this range of music, I mean I want to run up there and listen to them and be down here and listen to the Beetles. It's so heartening to see the families, it's such a festival."
Tuesday Harbor Family Fun Nights will continue every Tuesday in August from 6-9 p.m. See a full schedule of events .
