Pickup Truck Smashes Into Home's Garage Door: Police
The driver also hit a tree while attempting to get away, police said.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public's help in finding the driver of a pickup truck who hit an East Northport home in July.
The driver was speeding when they crashed a light-colored pickup truck into the Stony Hollow Road home's garage door around 12:30 p.m. on July 6, police said. The driver also hit a tree before zooming away northbound on Stony Hollow Road toward Pulaski Road, police said.
Police believe the driver is a man, and that the truck is either a Ford or Chevrolet. Witnesses say the license plate started with GMR or GWR. The truck would be missing a front metal tow loop, pictured below.
