'Playful, Sweet, Gentle' Wilson And Murphy: Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — Wilson (left) and Murphy, 7-month-old tabby bonded brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Pets of the Week.

"Wilson and Murphy have been in rescue for too long!" said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

First, they were in foster care. Then, they were at Doggie Don's in East Northport. Now, they are at Petco Commack.

"NOT ONE ADOPTION APPLICATION," Wild said. "We also joined The Long Island Pet Expo this past weekend! We met so many wonderful pet lovers … we bought three pairs of bonded sibling kittens with us and everyone got adoption applications except for Wilson and Murphy. They received a lot of great compliments, 'Oh they are so cute,' but sadly not one application. They put on quite a charming display … so calm amongst hundreds of people. No hissing when people introduced their puppies. They watched as people said hi and continued on, legs stretched, comforting each other."

They are playful, sweet, gentle with people and other cats, and very bonded to each other, according to Wild.

"They are still just kittens, spending their kittenhood in our habitats," she said. "We are not going to give up and neither are they! We know their happily ever after is out there!"

Wilson and Murphy are back in their habitats at Petco Commack.

"We guarantee you will fall in love with them!" Wild said.

They are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
