Police Log: Burglary at Tim’s Shipwreck Diner, Woman Thrown Overboard

Monday, June 6
At 12:30 p.m., police received a report of a dog inside a parked RV with the windows cracked open on Fort Salonga Road. Officers arrived to not find the dog in any distress. Officers said an RV is considered a residence and as long as the windows are open, there is no legal action that can be taken.
At 12:57 p.m., a disabled box truck was blocking Fort Salonga Road for a period of time until it was towed to a nearby parking lot.

At 5:07 p.m., police said a boat hit a wake, causing a woman to fall overboard near Constitution Square. The woman got back on land and received a leg laceration from the fall. She was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue. The boat operator took a field sobriety test and passed.

At 10:15 a.m., a woman on Lewis Road complained to police that she gets two calls per day from a representative from Organic Management Solutions Pest Control and would like the calls to stop. Her conversation with the representative recently became heated and she hung up on him, police say. Officers contacted the representative and told him to cease contact with the woman.
Wednesday, June 8
At 10:01 a.m., police received a report of grand larceny in which a woman on Woodhull Place received a phone call from Mexico City, Mexico requesting $900 to get her grandson out of jail. The woman sent the money via MoneyGram and then discovered her grandson was not in Mexico City.
At 10:15 a.m., a man was issued a trespassing offense summons in lieu of an arrest after a tree trimming company was working on a person’s Ackerly Terrace property without permission.
Thursday, June 9
At 6:46 a.m., police reported a burglary at Tim’s Shipwreck Diner on Main Street in which $400 dollars were taken from a safe box and the back front door was shattered.
