Police Log: Man Kicked in Face, Cafe Brawl, Heroin Overdose

Tuesday, March 8
At 5:55 p.m., police received a report that a woman on Stanton Street was receiving hurtful text messages from her mother. The woman filed the complaint for informational purposes only.

At 10:28 p.m., police received a report of a man suffering from a possible heroin overdose on Soper Avenue. Authorities arrived to the scene to find the man conscious and breathing. He was taken to Huntington Hospital by Northport Fire and Rescue.

At 11:12 p.m., police responded to a report of a barking dog on Monroe Street to find that the owner was not home. An officer discovered the front door was unlocked and upon opening it, the dog ran inside. An officer entered the home and was unable to locate anyone and subsequently secured the front door with the dog inside.
Wednesday, March 10
At 8:06 p.m., police received a report of a man blasting music and yelling on Constitution Square. Officers interviewed the man and determined he was mentally unstable.
Saturday, March 12
At 2:52 p.m., police responded to police headquarters to report harassment in which he was kicked in the face during a domestic incident on Constitution Square.
At 11:47 p.m., police responded to Ritz Cafe on Woodbine Avenue for a report of five men fighting.
