Police Log: Woman Charged With DWI, Employee Fired From Yacht Club

Monday, June 29

At 7:36 p.m., police reported a dispute between two neighbors on Bayview Avenue. Police said the complainant said his neighbor’s dog has been constantly going on his property and it is an ongoing issue that typically results in a verbal dispute. The neighbor said the complainant is incorrect about his property lines and the dog is never on his property. Both parties agreed to be more civil with each other in the future.

At 8:10 p.m., police issued a summons to a man in Village Park who did not have his dog leashed, which is a Village Code violation.

Tuesday, June 30

At 12 p.m., someone returned found property, a blue Canon PowerShot digital camera, that was found in Village Park.

Wednesday, July 1

At 1:25 a.m., a 23-year-old Northport man was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers discovered the controlled substance after they pulled the man over for a registration plate display violation on Waterside Road.

At 10:56 a.m., the Northport Yacht Club asked for police assistance in firing an employee in the afternoon. Police said the employers are concerned how the employee will behave since his behavior over the past month has become erratic. The employee left the location without incident.

At 2:47 p.m., police reported a disturbance in which there were three male youths jumping off the dock at Harbor Point Marina on Malcoms Landing. The three boys reportedly fled towards Bluff Point Road and were last seen near Northport Yacht Club.

Thursday, July 2

At 10:17 p.m., police received a report there was an injured raccoon in the roadway on Main Street. Officers determined the raccoon was separated from its mother and not injured. The raccoon left the location.

Friday, July 3

At 1:44 p.m., Hilary Kesner, 24, of Jericho, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Fort Salonga Road after authorities pulled her over for an unsafe lane change.

At 2:25 p.m., police reported a marine incident in which there was a disabled vessel that needed assistance in Northport Harbor. The vessel was towed and secured at the Town of Huntington Woodbine Marina.

At 4:06 p.m., police responded to a marine incident in which there was a rescue involving a jet ski in the Long Island Sound. The Huntington Harbor Master notified authorities that there were no injuries and the situation was under control. No further action was required.
