Police Nab Alleged East Northport Jewelry Thief

He had a ski mask, gloves and a walkie-talkie at the time of his arrest, police say.

A Brooklyn man was arrested after he stole jewelry from an East Northport store on Sunday morning, police said.

Kevin Lyde, 54, stole silver and gold necklaces from Devin Jewelers, located at 536 Larkfield Road, at approximately 10:40 a.m., according to authorities.

Officers located Lyde and placed him under arrest after he allegedly sneaked into another Larkfield Road location to hide from authorities.

He was found to be in possession of a headlight, ski mask, gloves and a walkie-talkie at the time of his arrest, police say.

Lyde was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglar tools and trespassing.

Another man was also arrested and charged with trespassing.

A source told Patch several police cars and police dogs were at the scene of the arrest.
