NORTHPORT, NY — The Rotary Club of Northport delivered more than 6,000 books on Sunday to the home of Leslie Gang, co-founder of Hindi’s Libraries, a non-profit that collects new and gently used books to donate around the world. The organization was created in memory of a 32-year-old educator, Dr. Hindi Krinsky.

Over the past several weeks, The Rotary Club has been hosting a book drive in Northport to benefit Hindi's Libraries, Gang said in a press release. To date, the organization has collected more than 75,000 books which are distributed to roughly 375 organizations spanning across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Israel and India.

In addition to transporting more than 100 boxes of books, Judy Farabaugh, a representative from the Rotary Club, and her team of volunteers presented a $1,000 check to the organization to cover shipping costs. Each shipped box, which holds about 60 books, costs $25 to send.
