Serena, a 'Beautiful Soul,' Is Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — Serena, a 9-year-old female cat with a "beautiful soul," is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.

"If Serena looks familiar it is because she is a former kitty of the week…sadly she is still waiting," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "Serena is the most gentle and loving sweetheart you may ever meet. She came from a dire situation when she and many other cats had to be removed from the only home she ever knew on Fire Island, when her owner took ill."

Serena is a big ball of mush, according to Wild. All she wants is love and affection and a home to call her own.

"She can be a couch potato and needs some coaxing to play but once she does she rolls all over the floor for some fun," Wild said. "When she has had enough she will let you know it is time to give her some belly rubs which she loves!"

Serena has beautiful, kind eyes and has been waiting so long, Wild said.

"She is at Petco Commack and waits while visitors pass her by, perhaps because she is no longer a kitten. All she needs is a chance. Her personality is unique and adoring and she has so much more to give. We hope that someone will welcome this girl into their home and into their hearts."

Serena is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
