Johnny Unitas Card Among Items Stolen In Fort Salonga Home Break-In

Two handguns that were also stolen from the home in 2021 have since been recovered, police say.

FORT SALONGA, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the person or people who broke into a Fort Salonga home last year and made off with sports memorabilia, including a Johnny Unitas card.

A Greentree Court home was broken into sometime between July 8-11 2021 while the homeowner was out of town, police said. Sports memorabilia, including collectible football cards, 5 oz. silver state coins, and American Eagle silver dollars were among the items stolen, police said. Two handguns were also stolen, but have since been recovered, police said.

Police sent out the burglary cold case early Wednesday.
