East Northport Toy Drive Collects Gifts for Long Island Kids
Students at Taekwondo Academy in East Northport help make it possible for children in the area to have gifts for Christmas this year.
For the third consecutive year, Taekwondo Academy of Self Defense students and their families have collected toys for the children of Long Island through their annual Toy Drive. This year, their collection of nearly 200 new unwrapped toys were donated to the Northport-East Northport School District student
organization Our Town. Our Town unites students throughout the district through community service projects such as their own annual toy drive. With additional donations made by Northport’s Einstein’s Attic, the toy drive provided hundreds of toys for a high needs group that includes both homeless children
and those in emergency foster care situations.
Taekwondo Academy owner, Master Jeff Maresca stated “I feel it’s a really good way to give back to our community. Just knowing that it brings so much happiness to children who would otherwise have very little. I am proud to be a part of such a giving group of people.”
