Photos: July 4th Fireworks at Asharoken Beach

The annual fireworks show went off Monday.

The Village of Asharoken held their annual Fourth of July fireworks at Asharoken Beach.  Starting at 9:20 p.m., over a hundred Asharoken and Northport residents gathered at the beach to gaze at the beautiful colors light up the sky.

As they waited for the show to start, a line nearly 20 people long was formed at the Mr. Frosty ice cream truck that pulled up to the parking lot.  The rest of the crowd sat on the beach watching the sunset, and seeing other fireworks being shot off from afar.

"It's a wonderful tradition, and i'm glad that the village is still able to have it," said Jose, a Northport resident who was at the beach with this family.  "The fireworks are beautiful every year, and to see them at this beach makes it that much better."
