Voter's Guide: Northport-East Northport School Budget, Board Election
What you need to know for election day.
Northport residents will vote on the school district’s $161,380,883 proposed budget for the 2016-17 school year on Tuesday, May 17.
The proposal calls for a 1.12 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 0.55 percent, which is within the state's tax cap.

Five candidates are seeking the three available seats on the Northport-East Northport School Board, TBR News Media reports.
Candidates include:
- Shawne Albero
- Allison Noonan
- Julia Binger
- Lori McCue
- Andrew Rapiejko
The Northport-East Northport PTA Council will host a "Meet the School Board Candidates Night" on Tuesday, May 10 so members of the community can make an informed voting decision. The event will be held at 7 p.m. at the Northport High School library. All are invited to attend.
On election day, residents are able to vote from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
There are three polling places:
- Election District 1: Those District residents living south of the center line of Pulaski Road vote at Fifth Avenue Elementary School
- Election District 2: Those District residents living north of the center line of Pulaski Road and south of the center line of Route 25A vote at Dickinson Avenue School
- Election District 3: Those District residents living north of the center line of Route 25A vote at William J. Brosnan School
