Water Repairs to Cause Road Closures in Northport Starting July 11

Eaton’s Neck Road in Northport will be closed in both directions between Ocean Avenue and Steers Avenue while the Suffolk County Water Authority does emergency water repairs.

The work will take place during the week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 22. The completion date is tentative.

Additional traffic changes:

• Northbound Ocean Avenue will also be closed at Locust Road.
• During construction, the gate at Eaton’s Neck Road and Steers Avenue will be open, allowing traffic leaving Asharoken and Eaton’s Neck to use Steers Avenue to get to Ocean Avenue.
• Traffic heading to Asharoken and Eaton’s Neck should take Ocean Avenue to Steers Avenue to access Eaton’s Neck Road during the construction period.
• Eaton’s Neck Road between Waterside Road and Ocean Avenue will be subject to possible closure from July 11-14. If this occurs, use Locust Road as an alternate route.
• All work will be done on weekdays and will be completed, and the roads will be re-opened by 4:30 p.m., police say.
