The Whale's Tale is back! The perennial Northport favorite of sailors and landlubbers alike reopened for the season on Tuesday.
"I was presently surprised, even though the weather was like 40 degrees warmer a year ago," said owner Sosh Andriano. "I was happy to see that the Tale Faithful were there ready for their $2 Tacos."
Among the new additions this year are fresh guacamole, 12 craft beers on tap, a larger wait staff, and a full time general manager.

"Obviously with our litigation over the last two years it was hard to know what our final outcome would be so it was hard to invest money into the business," said Andriano.
"Now that everything has been resolved, we've invested money internally. This concept was always meant to be nothing more than a glorified snack bar and as we've been growing in leaps and bounds over the past couple years the expectation has continued to go up, so this year I feel comfortable with tweaking some products and focusing on training our staff so we can continue to meet expectations."

According to an aggrement reached with the village last year, Whale's Tale is limited to four big events per year. Andriano said he'd like to reserve one of those permitted events for a taco-eating contest.
"I'd like to do something that becomes an annual event that we can tie in with a charity fundraiser," he said.
The Whale's Tale is located at 81 Fort Salonga Road near the Britannia Yachting Center. For more info, hours, and a menu, visit them on Facebook.
