Olive’s in Nyack has organized a Blanketfest event for Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 to help those in need after the affects of the recent disaster that hit the New York and New Jersey area hard. Countless people in the community are still without power almost a week after the storm. Olive’s is reaching out to those people by having an event this Tuesday where donated blankets, non-perishable foods, etc will be handed out. Many people are looking to help others in their community that have been more unfortunate and this is a simple way to reach out. Please bring blankets or other items you feel could be used by those without power, water, gas or homes to Olive’s, 118 Main Street, Nyack by Tuesday 5pm. The collected items will be distributed Tuesday evening 5pm -10pm. Anyone in need is welcome!
Nyack residents without power are also welcome to a free cup of soup at Olive’s during Blanketfest. A large selection of bands will be entertaining the crown during the event. Olive’s has always been a place where the community comes together to share creativity and friendship and it will continue to be so during these difficult times. If you want to pick up a few needed items, have a hot cup of soup, or just come to a warm place for some great entertainment, stop by Olive’s in Nyack this Tuesday.
