Annual Thanksgiving in a Bag Distribution

Rockland Independent Living Center's annual event was Nov. 23, 24.

Rockland Independent Living Center (RILC) distributed 100 Turkey Dinners Nov. 23 and 24 with the help of local dignitaries.

Working with RILC CEO/Executive Director George Hoehmann were Rockland County Executive Ed Day, District Attorney Tom Zugibe, Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski, Senator David Carlucci, Lions Club members, and Angelo Rubino, owner of Nyack Seaport.

The meals are distributed to RILC consumers, whose ranks include local veterans and community members with disabilities.

The event was made possible through generous donations from The Rockland Community Foundation in conjunction with Inserra Shoprite Supermarkets, The Lions Club, and the Rubino family, owners of Nyack Seaport.

The mission of Rockland Independent Living Center is to provide advocacy and leadership in the creation and development of an accessible and integrated community for people with disabilities, so that they may pursue lifestyles of their choice.
