Arrest in Old Riverspace Theater Graffiti Incident

At 12:21AM Sept. 7, the Orangetown Police Department arrested Adam G. Koplowitz, 21, for the misdemeanor offenses of Making Graffiti and Possession of Graffiti Instruments.

Police said an Orangetown police officer on patrol observed the Nyack resident putting white enamel paint on a door of the old Riverspace Theater on Main St. The building is now owned by the Village of Nyack. The old building has been unused since the 2011 flooding; it was gutted last month.

Koplowitz was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Nyack Court on Sept. 22.
