Back to School with Dignity: Help Nyack Kids

People to People, Inc., seeks help from Rockland residents for its annual “Back to School with Dignity” program.

Back To School With Dignity is a vital People to People program, providing essential school supplies to Rockland students from low-income families. This makes it possible for these students to start the new school year on the road to success. Last year, Back To School With Dignity provided backpacks filled with school grade-appropriate school supplies to more than 2,000 children from Rockland’s struggling families.

How can you Help Back to School with Dignity?

• Make a financial contribution.
• Purchase extra school supplies when shopping for your children and donate them to People to People.
• Organize a school supplies collection through your church, civic group, office or company. Click here for the School Supplies List or contact Guadalupe Fishman, Office Manager, at guadalupe@peopletopeopleinc.org for more information.
• Donations of school supplies may be dropped off at People to People, 121 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY on Monday through Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Local businesses like the Palisades Center are helping too. Throughout the month of August, guests who purchase gift cards at the Guest Services Desk on Level 1 are able to make a monetary donation to People to People, Rockland’s largest food pantry, if they wish.

Additionally, People to People will be on-site for “Family Fun Day,” taking place Aug. 29 to collect donations of school supplies. Guests attending the event are invited to bring donations to People to People’s “Back to School with Dignity” program. Those who bring school supplies to donate will be entered to win a prize from a Palisades Center retailer.
