Bank Robbery Friday in Central Nyack

The investigation is just beginning.

NYACK, NY — The Clarkstown Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Key Bank located at 388 Rt. 59 in Central Nyack before 2 p.m. today.

The investigation is underway and is a joint effort involving both the Clarkstown Detective Bureau and the FBI.

At about 1:55 p.m. the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Key Bank.

The initial reports stated that a man in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a black Nike sweatshirt, entered the bank and made demands of the teller.

At this point in the investigation it is unclear if any money was stolen by the suspect, police said.

He left the bank and fled in an unknown direction. It has not been determined if the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle. There were no injuries to the bank employees.

The detectives and the FBI are continuing the investigation, reviewing surveillance video and interviewing bank employees. There is no further information at this time and we will provide updates as information becomes available.
