The Boy Scouts of America have shut down a Seattle troop for refusing to remove an openly homosexual scoutmaster. Seattle attorney Peter J. Mullenix has faulted the Rainier Beach United Methodist Church for allowing Geoff McGrath to serve in violation of their policy that does not allow for openly gay scoutmasters. Even though it has been stated that Troop 98 will not continue their program for their refusal to comply with the rules, Rev. Monica Corsaro of the Seattle troop's church says that the boy and cub scouts will continue the meeting nonetheless. Even though the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) broke ground when it decided to allow openly gay members last May, the BSA did not accept openly gay scout masters. Many people are worried that this controversy will deny the boys the lesson of tolerance and diversity needed to progress through life, but with the support of Corsaro, these boys will be able to know what true acceptance really is.
