Bridge Landing Taking Shape in Nyack

It's another important milestone.

After months of foundation work, Tappan Zee Constructors’ crews soon will begin assembling the formwork that will shape the bridge’s landing on the Rockland shoreline, officials said.

It’s another milestone for the bridge project.

The steel, concrete and earthen abutment will form a base for the 100-year span to meet the existing highway.

Also on the Rockland side, TZC also will continue limited concrete placement for foundations near the shoreline in South Nyack.

The floating batch plants were temporarily taken out of service last month after a silo failed, so the concrete for this work will be acquired from local concrete suppliers and will be delivered by truck to the Rockland trestle located off of the New York State Thruway southbound access ramp.

Trucks will exit the trestle to the Thruway via the northbound access ramp.

The access ramps give construction vehicles a safe route directly to the work site and reduce traffic impacts on local roads.
