About Us
Arts Alive was established by local artist Irene Czys in 1998 as an Art School and Art Studio/Gallery in the Garnerville Arts Center. Due to covid, art classes were halted. Recently, Irene opened up the Arts Alive Art Gallery at 85 South Broadway in Nyack where she will feature her own paintings and photographs and those by local artists.
Collecting art, enjoying art, embracing art enriches one's life. People can spend $100 on a dinner and it's gone tomorrow, but when you buy a work of art, it can be enjoyed for a lifetime and can even become more valuable with age. Irene authored a book on art collecting in 2002 that is being republished soon. In the book, she wrote: "Art is a universal language that communicates the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual elements of the human experience. Art depicts times, places, events, experiences, ideas, feelings, concepts, culture, philosophy, and psychology, and often embraces, inspires, or influences various historical, social, and political theories. Art gives us roots into our past and wings for our future. Art gives us the power to observe what is, remember what was, and imagine what could be." - Irene Czys, Author and Artist.
