Rockland Photography Club
About Us
Founded in 1971, the Rockland Photography Club is open to all photographers – beginners to professionals. Anyone that has an interest in sharing their images, developing their skills, and interacting with others who share their passion should consider joining. The Club meets on two to three Thursdays a month from September to May, with informal workshops during the summer months. Learn how to improve your photography, advance your knowledge and expertise, and/or get inspired to try something new! Our featured speakers share their knowledge about topics that include photographic techniques, creative approaches, and tools for post-processing. Field trips not only provide new shooting locations but the opportunity to learn from other photographers in a relaxed setting. Monthly Evaluations provide the opportunity to learn from the commentary of trained evaluators. Evaluation themes vary from year to year but might include Landscapes, Abstract, Street Photography, Nature, and All Things Considered-where members can submit images with a subject of their choosing. Members can submit color and monochrome images for evaluations at any time after joining the Club, and can participate at one of the following levels: Beginner – a comfortable place to start /Advanced – for those with some experience / Salon – for the most experienced members. The Club offers a mentoring program for new members who want help understanding how to use their camera equipment and improve their photographic technique.
