Nyack Library Launches Rockland County's First Ever Bike Borrow Program!
This spring, Nyack Library launched Rockland County's first Bike Borrow program, providing residents with a new, free way to explore ther community on two wheels. Through this innovative initiative, library cardholders can borrow a bicycle just like checking out a book, promoting healthier travel choices, reducing reliance on cars, and fostering a deeper connection to the local environment.
Here's how it works: adults with a Nyack Library or Valley Cottage Library card in good standing can borrow a bike from the computer resource center desk. Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis and can be borrowed for a full day of use. Riders are asked to return their bike after no longer than one week. Each borrower must sign a use agreement and waiver. Bicycle maintenance is provided by Piermont Bicycle Connection to ensure they are in safe working order. Call (845) 358-3370 ext. 235 for more information.
