Pow! Bam!

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre brings a Burst of Comic Energy to Comedy of Errors

May 8, 9 at 7pm - May 9,16 at 2pm at Palisades Presbyterian Church

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre brings laugh-out-loud comic energy and slapstick to Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, as the final production in its 2025-26 Season of Character.

A cast of sixteen young people, ages 10-14, will bring this comic cartoon of mix-ups and misunderstandings to life in four performances at the Palisades Presbyterian Church, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7pm, May 8th & 9th and with matinee performances May 9th &16th at 2pm.

One of Shakespeare’s earliest (and shortest!) plays, Comedy of Errors is all about mistaken identity. When two sets of identical twins, separated at birth, unknowingly end up in the same town, what could go wrong? Well, everything.

An hilarious night of comic shenanigans is promised in this production directed by Giverny Petitmermet, assisted by Matthew Blum with costumes by Megan Kip-Holden and lighting by Richard Reimann Valdes.

Cast members come from Rockland and Bergen counties and stars eighth graders Nora Maloney and Myla Zimbler, who together have over two dozen CST productions under their belts, as the twin masters whose day gets more and more puzzling by the minute. Iris King (who recently played Rosalind in As You Like It) and Declan Amendolia (who played Doc Gibbs in Our Town) play the twin servants, equally confused when their seeming master orders them to do things that make no sense. The rest of the cast includes Grace Amoonclark, Ruth Benjamin, Avery Chase, Colette Dickey, Levon Goldberg, Kyla Li, Stella Mattii, Owen Oh, Charles Reimann Valdes, Ian Scimone, Anna Wennerod, and Erica Winfree.

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre strives to develop confident and creative young people through the performance of Shakespeare’s plays. Since its founding in 1999, CST has been dedicated to offering quality educational theater and building a community that enriches the lives of young actors and their families.

Tickets are available at www.childrensshakespeare.org. Teachers see the play for free. The Palisades Presbyterian Church is located at 117 Washington Springs Road in Palisades, NY.
