Many of you may not be aware of a special occasion that occurred in your little Hamlet this past Monday. Your gracious and wonderful Mayor made a dream come true for my husband and I. We were married at Village Hall this past Monday with a couple of very special friends who witnessed the landmark occasion.
My husband and I reside in North Carolina and decided with the passing of DOMA we wanted to take advantage of the 1 right we could be afforded at this time. We've been married in our hearts for 16 years but decided while we were in NYC for a play my husband performed in over the weekend why not make it legal. Mayor White was very honored to do this for us and it "really" showed. She was just as excited about our special day as we were. Town Clerk Mary White put together a beautiful set of vows for us and was very helpful in the preparation of our day.
You all have an awesome Mayor and I feel like we made new friends. You have a very special town and you never know we may just migrate up to the village of Nyack and become residents someday.
