Clarkstown Police Seek Nyack Man in Shooting

They have named a 'person of interest.'

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is seeking a person of interest who was present at the shooting March 12 in Central Nyack.

Police described Darique Burke, 20, of the Nyack area as a male black with a muscular build and facial hair. He frequents the Nyack area and has the nickname “Rico."

At about 5:40 p.m. that afternoon the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the area of 26 Upper Depew Ave. in Central Nyack after a man dialed 911 and stated that he was shot. Responding patrol units were met by the victim who was bleeding from the mouth area. The Nyack 20-year-old said that an unknown person shot him as he was walking in the area of the Super 8 Motel in Central Nyack.

The victim was transported to Nyack Hospital's ER by Nyack Volunteer Ambulance. The Clarkstown Detective Bureau has been conducting an investigation into the shooting and has determined that Burke was at the scene.
