Classic Car Night in Nyack Was A Smash Hit

From Nyack Chamber of Commerce: This amazing show of vehicular splendor included more than 300 antique, specialty and muscle cars -- all parked in the center of town for the crowd of 1,000+ enthusiasts, families and friends to enjoy. Now in its 6th year, the event is created and presented by the Nyack Chamber of Commerce.

Big draws this year included an exact replica of the 1966 Batmobile, signed by Batman himself, Adam West. Catwoman also made a surprise appearance, along with a bevvy of models decked out in 1950s attire.

Batmobile admirers were invited to have their picture taken sitting in the car, and to enter a raffle for an ride down Broadway in the Bat at the end of the evening. Proceeds of the raffle went to Soup Angels of Nyack, a not-for-profit community charity.

The Alice Cooper Car, owned and built by rock icon Alice Cooper, was also among the celebrity vehicles featured at the event. The Alice Cooper Car was made available by one of the event's generous sponsors, Motorcar Manor

Other key sponsors include: Autobahn Indoor Speedway, Palisades Auto Sales, Rockland Rodders and Speedpro Imaging.

The event also included outdoor entertainment with oldies and classic rock favorites spun by DJ Don, live bands in local bars and restaurants, and face painting for the kids

Classic Car Night piggy-backs on another community initiative spearheaded by the Chamber — Nyack’s ThursdayFarmers’ Market — which runs earlier in the day (8:00 am to 2:00 pm) in the heart of Nyack’s downtown.
