Connecticut Man Faces DWI Charge in South Nyack

State police said he was pulled over on the Thruway.

SOUTH NYACK, NY – At 9:10 p.m. Dec. 12, state police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for multiple traffic violations.

Police allege they found the driver of the vehicle, Yosef D. Desouza of Shelton, CT, to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit. He was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Misdemeanor
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations

The 45-year-old was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Village of South Nyack Court on Jan. 9.
