Cooling Centers Open Throughout The Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With heat advisories issued in the Hudson Valley, cooling centers can provide needed relief from the rising temperatures. New York State maintains a database of such centers by county.
- In Dutchess County, the state's database of cooling centers lists 16 local libraries. Call ahead for the hours they're open.
- Orange County has three cooling centers in the state's database: the Municipal Center in Walden, the Port Jervis Youth/Community Center, and the Warwick Town Senior Center. Call for operating hours.
- Putnam's eight libraries are cooling centers, according to the state database. Call to find out when they're open.

- Ulster has one cooling center listed in the state's database: 2nda Iglesia La Mision Church in Kingston.
- Westchester: Libraries, municipal buildings and community centers make up the bulk of the county's list on the state's database.
The National Weather Service predicts highs in the low to mid-90s across the tri-state.
