Stony Point Daughter Charged With Murder In Mother's Stabbing Death

A 60-year-old woman found dead had been stabbed and slashed, police said.

STONY POINT, NY — A Stony Point woman has been charged with murder after her mother was found stabbed to death early Sunday.

Police were called at 1 a.m. by a man asking for emergency medical services and police for a woman stabbed and bleeding at 431 Willow Grove Road. Stony Point and Haverstraw police responded, as well as the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department.

The arriving officers found a woman dead. She had been stabbed and slashed with a large knife, police said. The weapon was located at the scene and secured by detectives.

A suspect at the scene was transported back to the Stony Point Police Department for
investigation.

The victim was later identified as Doris Quispe, a 60-year-old Stony Point resident.

The suspect, Marilyn Mora, a 25-year-old Stony Point resident, is the daughter of the victim. Mora was charged with murder in the second degree. She was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail without bail.

Stony Point detectives are being assisted in their investigation by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department BCI, Computer Crimes Unit. The Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office.
