Doctor Slain In NYC Park Was ER Pediatrician In Nyack

The Harlem stabbing hit close to home.

NYACK, NY — Parents across Rockland County are mourning the death of the doctor slain in a park in New York City by a man accused in a series of violent and deadly attacks.

Dr. Bruce Maurice Henry worked for an emergency medicine group in the emergency department of Nyack Montefiore Hospital.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Henry’s untimely passing," hospital officials said. "He had been a valued member of our Emergency Department team serving as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician. Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues at this time."

He was well-known and loved, residents told The Journal News.

East Harlem resident Roland Codrington, 35, was linked to Dr. Henry's death and an assault Thursday at Teddy's Bar and Grill near East 111th Street, police said. Codrington is also linked to an East Village homicide that saw a man's throat slit on Dec. 19, police said.
