Driver In Nyack Found With Altered Temporary Tag: Police
The tag had been issued for a 2019 Tesla but was found on a 2010 Toyota, police said.
NYACK, NY — An Orangetown police officer noticed a driver roll through a stop sign in Nyack on Dec. 14. The officer then noticed that the temporary New Jersey license plate on the 2010 Toyota appeared to have been altered with a black marker.
The officer called New Jersey authorities and discovered that the temporary tag, which was expired, had been issued to a 2019 Tesla.
Nyack resident Tara Bernard acknowledged that the license plate was not legitimate, police said.

The 20-year-old was charged with possession of a forged instrument, a misdemeanor. She's due in Nyack village court Jan. 14.
