Felony DWI Charges For Rockland Driver With Kids In Car
The Haverstraw woman was involved in a crash at Route 59 and 9W.

NYACK, NY — A Haverstraw resident involved in an accident in Nyack Sunday faces felony charges for driving while intoxicated. There were two children in the car.
Orangetown police who responded to the scene near the intersection of Route 59 and Route 9W said driver Aixa A. Aviles was acting impaired.
Police conducted field sobriety tests and then sent her to Nyack Hospital for blood testing.

Aviles faces multiple charges, including:
- Aggravated DWI (a child less than 16), a class E felony (two counts)
- Operation of motor vehicle impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor
Aviles, 58, is due to appear in Nyack village court Dec. 11.
