Felony DWIs in Nyack and Pearl River

Orangetown police report two arrests.

Jan. 9: Edgar Pinos, 31, of Spring Valley was stopped for traffic violations on Old Middletown Road in Pearl River at 6:15 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer test at Orangetown Police headquarters. His charge was upped to a felony when it was learned that he had a previous conviction for drunk driving in 2009.

Jan. 4: James J. Bernick of Nyack was stopped on Main Street at about 12:30 a.m. for erratic driving. He refused to submit to either field sobriety tests or a breathalyzer test. The charge of driving while intoxicated is a felony because of a previous conviction for DWI in 2011.
